Make your favorite coffee house drinks in the comfort of your own home! This popular copycat White Chocolate Mocha recipe is rich and delicious and always a hit!
Latte, cappuccino, espresso, frappe, White Chocolate Mocha?
Don’t even get me started on the drink sizes at Starbucks! Tall really means small? Grande is medium. And then there is Venti? What happened to just good ole small, medium and large.
Then there is the roast type. Blonde. Medium. Dark. Colombian. French. Italian.
Being a coffee drinker really requires knowledge and know how (know how to fake it in those fancy coffee shops when you don’t know what you are talking about…. like I did for so many years!).
But I have slowly learned a thing or two about coffee over the years. Like that a coffee shop is a great place to get work done and visit with friends and not only is coffee a tasty drink, but is great to use to boost flavors in cooking and baking.
However, I am still ‘old school’ when I order my Starbucks drinks and still, all these years later, say large, medium or small.
I am still a sugar and milk or half-n-half in my coffee kinda girl.
No black coffee here (I haven’t advanced that far in my coffee drinking).
I have also learned that most of those fancy, schmancy coffee house drinks can be easily made at home for mere pennies; saving myself from forking over my entire life’s savings every time I get a craving for a ‘gourmet’ coffee.
One of my year-round favorite specialty coffee drinks is a White Chocolate Mocha. By the way, a mocha is similar to a caffè latte, and is espresso based with hot milk and chocolate added.
Most coffee shops serve it with whip cream on top (how could they not!), but it doesn’t always come with whipped cream.
My homemade version, made with basic pantry staples, means I can enjoy my favorite coffee drink at home in my pj’s without handing over any cold hard cash!

Make your favorite coffee house drinks in the comfort of your own home! This popular copycat White Chocolate Mocha recipe is rich and delicious and always a hit!
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups strong brewed coffee
- ¼ cup milk
- 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips,, (depending on desired richness can add more)*
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- whipped cream,, for serving
Instructions
- Combine coffee, milk, and white chocolate chips in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Whisking constantly, simmer for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour into a large mug, and top with whipped cream. Serve immediately.
Notes
If you don't have any whipped cream on hand add additional 2-3 tablespoons of milk, if desired.
*Note: Since this recipe uses real white chocolate, rather than a white chocolate syrup like at most coffee shops, it may have a lighter flavor or be less sweet, which I personally prefer. If you want a sweeter, richer chocolate flavor, simply increase the white chocolate to 4-5 tablespoons.

The recipe is pretty good. I think it may be the brand of white chocolate chips that I bought. They have a weird taste. I would recommend not going cheap for the chips or using a syrup.
