We firmly believe every holiday should have a signature snack mix. You know, something easy to whip up and have on hand that is a little crunchy, maybe sweet AND salty and of course bursting with festive vibes!
For Halloween, we love our Monster Munch Popcorn that has crushed up Halloween Oreos, candy corn, Halloween M&M’s and salty peanuts.
For Thanksgiving, this Fall Snack Mix is festive with cornucopia shaped Bugles, harvest candy corn, nutty peanuts and irresistible Reese’s Pieces.
At Christmas, we love making this Double Chocolate Chex Mix with Almonds and Cranberries. This version of a sweet and salty snack mix is tossed in cocoa powder and sugar and then has white chocolate, slivered almonds and plump, juicy cranberries mixed in. This snack is actually great year round but is extra festive for the holiday season.
Speaking of a Chex mix that is great year round, this Loaded Baked Potato Chex Mix is so different from most Chex mix recipes and it is incredibly easy to throw together for a football party or summer road trip.
For Easter, this Bunny Bait recipe is a must! It is a white chocolate popcorn with festive, pastel sprinkles and milk chocolate M&M’s and some crunchy, salty pretzels.
This Easter Popcorn is a great no bake Easter dessert and only uses a handful of ingredients. It can be made several days ahead of serving and stores well in an air-tight container. Since this Easter treat stores so well, it ships beautifully.
We love to munch on this Easter snack mix for a spring movie night at home and have also packaged it up in Easter themed treat bags to share with friends and neighbors or slip into Easter baskets!
Helpful Tips and Information:
What is Bunny Bait:
Bunny Bait is a festive and delicious Easter popcorn snack mix featuring popcorn, pastel M&M’s, Easter sprinkles, pretzels and melted white chocolate.
Easter Popcorn Ingredients and Substitutions:
- Air popped popcorn – We use our favorite air popper to make the popcorn for this recipe, however, you could use microwave popcorn or store bought popcorn like Boom Chicka Pop. You could also replace the popcorn with cereal like Cheerios or Chex.
- Vanilla almond bark or white chocolate chips
- Coconut oil or avocado oil – This helps the chocolate melt smoothly and prevents it from burning.
- Pastel Easter M&M’s (plain or peanut) – We used peanut pastel Easter M&M’s in this recipe, however, if you want a dye free chocolate candy we recommend these Unreal Chocolate Candies. You could also use Cadbury Mini Eggs.
- strong>Pretzels – For a gluten free option, you could replace the pretzels with a gluten free cereal like Cheerios or Chex.
- Easter or pastel colored sprinkles – We used these adorable flower sprinkles, however, any colorful sprinkle mix would add some festive fun to this recipe. For a dye free option, we recommend these dye free sprinkles or the Walmart brand natural sprinkles.
How to make Bunny Bait:
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Pop popcorn according to the manufacturer’s directions. Let popcorn cool and remove any un-popped kernels.
- Place the popped popcorn in a large bowl with the broken up pretzels and M&M’s. Set aside.
- Place almond bark and oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each time, until almond bark is melted and smooth.
- Drizzle the melted almond bark over the popcorn mixture and stir to coat, making sure everything is evenly coated.
- Spread popcorn mixture onto the lined baking sheet and quickly top with sprinkles. Let cool. Break into pieces and serve.
